Couchdrop is a cloud SCP, SFTP, FTP and Rsync server, which means files can be downloaded and uploaded using the SCP, SFTP, FTP or Rsync tool packaged with openssh on virtually any unix derivative.
Couchdrop supports integration with Exoscale via Couchdrop's Compatible S3 support. This integration allows you to directly transfer files to and from Exoscale's S3 using SCP, SFTP and Rsync with Couchdrop.r.
Link Exoscale with Couchdrop
Linking Exoscale with Couchdrop requires an existing Exoscale account, security keys and a bucket in Exoscale.
Once you have an Exoscale bucket ready to go, log into Couchdrop by visiting your Couchdrop Portal.
Click on Storage on the left navigation menu
If you have not used Couchdrop yet, you will not see any Storage Buckets. You now need to create a new Storage Bucket for Exoscale. You can create as many storage buckets as desired, and associate different permissions and paths for each.
Click Add Storage and you will be presented with options to configure a range of storage buckets, select Compatible S3.
Here you need to specify a destination path, permission mode and bucket type. The path is what identifies this specific storage bucket when you are downloading or uploading files. For our example, we will leave it as "/".
Exoscale also requires the configuration of the following details:
- Your Exoscale Endpoint URL - this is https://sos-[location of bucket]-exo.io
- Your Exoscale Bucket Name
- Your Exoscale Access Key - Find your keys here
- Your Exoscale Secret Key
Once configured, click Save Settings and the integration is complete. You can begin transferring files to and from Exoscale with Couchdrop.
