Couchdrop is a cloud SCP, SFTP, FTP and Rsync server, which means files can be transferred using the SCP, SFTP or Rsync tool packaged with openssh on virtually any unix derivative or your favorite SFTP/FTP client.
Couchdrop supports integration with Digital Ocean Spaces. This integration allows you to directly transfer files to and from Digital Ocean Spaces using SCP, SFTP, FTP and Rsync with Couchdrop. Digital Ocean Spaces can be configured in addition to Dropbox or other Storage Providers or as the primary storage for your Couchdrop Cloud SCP, SFTP, FTP and Rysnc server.
Link Digital Ocean Spaces with Couchdrop
Linking Digital Ocean Spaces with Couchdrop requires an existing Digital Ocean account and a Space that is already configured.
Once you have a Space ready to go, log into Couchdrop by visiting https://my.couchdrop.io.
Click on Storage on the left navigation menu
If you have not used Couchdrop yet, you will not see any Storage Buckets. You now need to create a new Storage Bucket for Digital Ocean Spaces. You can create as many storage buckets as desired, and associate different permissions and paths for each.
Click Add Storage and you will be presented with options to configure a range of storage buckets, for this article select Digital Ocean.
Here you need to specify a destination path, permission mode and bucket type. The path is what identifies this specific storage bucket when you are downloading or uploading files. For our example, we will leave it as "/".
Digital Ocean Spaces also requires the configuration of the following details:
- Spaces Endpoint URL
- Spaces Access Key
- Spaces Secret Key
- Spaces Bucket Name
For information on where to find these details, see http://docs.aws.amazon.com/general/latest/gr/managing-aws-access-keys.html
Once configured, click Save Settings and the integration is complete. You can begin transferring files to and from Digital Ocean Spaces with Couchdrop.
