With Couchdrop you can turn you Dropbox into a SCP and Rsync server simply by linking it as a storage provider to your Couchdrop account. Once linked, you can transfer files to and from your Dropbox with SCP and Rsync on any server without having to install the Box agent app.
Create a Box Account
Before starting you need a Box account. This can easily be created by visiting https://box.com
Link Box to Couchdrop
To link your Dropbox account to Couchdrop, first login to Couchdrop by visiting https://my.couchdrop.io.
Once logged in, click Storage on the navigation menu.
If you have not used Couchdrop yet, you will not see any Storage Buckets. We now need to create a new Storage Bucket for Box. You can create as many storage buckets as desired, and associate different permissions and paths for each.
Click Add Bucket and you will be presented with options to configure a bucket.
Here you need to specify a destination path, permission mode and bucket type. The path is what identifies this specific storage bucket when you are downloading or uploading files. For our example, we will leave it as "/" and we will configure the bucket type as "Box".
Once you are happy, click Link Box. This will take you to Box's OAuth page.
If you are not already logged in with Box, login.
Box will ask for your permission to Allow Couchdrop. Click Grant Access to Box and you will be returned to your Couchdrop account.
Once returned to Couchdrop, click Save Settings and you are done.
Your Box account will now work perfectly with Couchdrop. You can begin transferring files to and from Box with Couchdrop.
